Nestled on an impeccable shoreline of warm turquoise waters, Le Mas is a destination apart and the pinnacle of the modern Mediterranean dream.
The history of Le Mas begins with the cinematic F. Scott Fitzgerald novel Tender is the Night, which inspired our in-house storytellers in their approach to Mediterranean luxury. Reminiscent of the remarkable Hôtel des Étrangers in which the novel’s love story takes place, Ten Over Media celebrates Le Mas as a graphic, textural element to create a dynamic yet domestic atmosphere. Fitzgerald described it as a “playground for the world”, and it lends spectacle to the intimate scene today.
Situated on the mythic stretch of coastline that shapes the bustling French Riviera, Le Mas is a place of tranquil focus. Visiting the site and its environment, our team experienced the heat pressing like the heel of a boot, and the importance of the traveler’s quest for the ultimate quiet, inviting and protective stay.
Ten Over Media’s films and images illustrate the tangible experience of the “diffused magic of the hot sweet South”, drowsing on a hot afternoon, gently sipping a fizzling champagne in the shade of Le Mas, with the cicadas chirruping, and the sun-baked fragrances of the shoreline lulling you to peace. Gracefully placed, pure and picturesque, Le Mas is a luxurious getaway where nature meets the mind.
Outside, shots are marked by graphic use of the erect cypress and pine trees, breaking the horizontality of the property and paying tribute to foregone poems of Provence. Inside, the filmmakers use windows as canvases, focusing on them as if they were works of art, paintings hanging on the wall. As such, the view from the window instantly connects the property to nature.
Echoing the pre-production process of the film industry, our team’s art direction ensures the high level of finish that translates your brand strategy into polished and harmonious content.
Set against the land and sea, its location along the beach is a chief aspect of the property’s character. Ten Over Media’s team translated the inviting and natural landscape in a soothing way. Daytime scenes are bright and emphasize affinity while nighttime scenes have mild contrast and a coincidence of tone. The coast’s charisma is captured with soft blue-grey tones, complemented by saturated primary accents in our most inspirational portrait scenes.
Quiet, daily moments of Mediterranean life are immortalized through slow visual tempo, and extreme contrast is avoided. Additionally, camera lenses are set at waist-level to “ground” the experience of the viewer, who is sitting on the floor, as he would be in a temple.
“When your eyes first fall upon the Mediterranean you know at once why it was here that man first stood erect and stretched out his arms toward the sun” recalls Fitzgerald. The spirit of Le Mas speaks to the unique Mediterranean dream that draws people back to its shores generation after generation.
Our films and images are an ode to unsurpassable views and the atmosphere of refined elegance where, among the whispering pines and the heliotrope-scented gardens, guests are, as Fitzgerald predicted, “Borne back ceaselessly into the past.”
‘We were going to the Old World to find a new rhythm to our lives.’
— F. Scott Fitzgerald
