Connecting the community and audiences to a rural, familial development nestled in Cle Elum’s stunning landscape.
47 North is a visionary development that blends the best of nature with modern amenities. Comprising of a residential neighborhood, a lavish outdoor resort, and a thriving business park, the project is a harmonious celebration of the unique climate and rustic mountain charm of Cle Elum. However, early project design faced opposition from the local community who felt the plans were unrealistic and at odds with the area's heritage.
Since the audience was not fully understanding the value of 47 North, the developer and their marketing team joined hands with Ten Over Media to go beyond representing the project as-is. When starting on the project, our team proposed introducing emotions and evoke memories by showcasing lifestyle scenes and, in some options, using concept illustrative artwork to work in 47 North’s benefit by associating it with the experience and memories of America’s National Parks.
Showing pocket neighborhoods like this was important for the audience to understand how the project fosters interaction within the community.
Our involvement started with creating these illustrations, depicting the grand scenic value of each area. The main focus was on the very tall deciduous trees remaining on-site, with architecture coming second. A feeling of “nostalgia” was used as an asset to the project, and helped illustrations feeling cheerful and rich in color, all with a human touch.
Our team drew inspiration from watercolor paintings to create visuals reminiscent of a place that families can call home. Though this is an older style of architectural representation, illustrations may be soothing to some audiences and in this case, it was clear that a more human touch was needed to better connect with the community. This helped humanize the project by decreasing the “manufactured” feeling renderings may have, and softening the overall images, making each scene feel more natural.
Only after establishing this relationship with the audience were we able to proceed with realistic renderings.
Eventually, Cle Elum's local community became familiar with the developer’s vision and embraced the project as it should be : a great opportunity to support all family lives now and for generations to come.
This is the point at which we considered introducing realistic 3D lifestyle renderings and transform previous illustrations into a real-world representation of peaceful everyday life at 47 North. This was achieved through greater detail, improved composition and lighting, and a focus on everyday life scenes. Through the 3D rendering work, we continued to represent the value of each area's stunning scenery.
Here's a look at how previous handcrafted illustrations were brought to life with 3D lifestyle renderings .
By showcasing vivid, relatable sketch illustrations & branded renderings that accurately reflected life on the property, Cle Elum’s community was given a glimpse into the true essence of the 47 North development. Ten Over Media’s involvement allowed them to form a deeper connection and truly envision the conservation and preservation of nature that this development holds dear.
Ten Over Media’s partnership with the developer helped reach new heights with their destination tourism development, better serving the needs of the community and helping to successfully promote a previously spurned project.
